Stella in Wonderland

January 13, 2010

British designer Stella McCartney, known for her darling cruelty-free duds, falls down the rabbit hole and joins the madcap world of Wonderland! According to WWD, Stella is designing jewelry collection in collaboration with Disney for the cinematic palooza that is Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”–think hats, spades, clubs, diamonds, and hearts bedazzled with Swarovski crystals in shades of black, pink, and brown. These gems can be procured at Stella’s stores next month.

Gossip Folks

January 12, 2010

Milwaukee-born Jessica Szhor’s Teen Vogue cover (shot by Patrick Demarchlier)! In case you have been living under a rock–or on Membata–this lady plays Vanessa on “Gossip Girl.” Now, if only she were doing the polka, with a badger, wearing a cheesehead! *cues On Wisconsin*

Outbound to Wonderland!

June 26, 2009

At last! The surfacing of character photos of the highly-anticipated Tim Burton version of “Alice in Wonderland,” the quirkiest, kookiest, most glorious of children’s fairy tales, written by the utterly brilliant Brit, Lewis Carroll. Without a doubt, commingling Burton’s creative genius with Johnny Depp‘s savvy for playing the richest, and nuttiest, of characters, not to mention the immense talents of Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter, the film is destined to create quite the whirlwind of an experience! The bold, contrastive colors in the enticing photos below create quite the visual treat, and the impeccable maquillage and wardrobe styling parlay each character’s singularity, which, I believe, is the precisely the emphasis Sir Carroll originally imagined. Related: I literally just stumbled upon the ethereal Amanda Seyfried as Alice in Wonderland for Vogue Italia April 2008.

She's painting the roses red, she's painting the roses red!

As much as I adore the bright-eyed beauty, I still am rather partial to the epically clever, gorgeously-styled and astutely-conceived Vogue US December 2004 version starring a charming Natalia Vodianova with a myriad of renowned designers, photographed by SuperPhotog Annie Leibovitz.
