The 411: BFC/Vogue win for Erdem!

April 1, 2010

What a perfect time to hop back into the blogging realm after a largely inexcusable hiatus. Set amongst a talented crew of nominees (Christopher Kane included), Erdem garnered the Brits inaugural Fashion Fund award, and by the looks of his ultra-sincere gratitude for the award, I’m sure we’ll see great things to come from the half-Brit/half-Turk designer. Erdem has been on the up and up, steadily gaining momentum over the past few years, especially after his S/S 10 showing last fall.

A few looks from his F/W 10 collection:

April is NOT the cruelest month.

January 15, 2010

Why? Mayhap because Zac Posen’s designs are slated to inundate Target stores on the 25th of the month. Unapologetically girlish prints mingle with a fair share of red and black. View the entire lookbook here!

SAVE LUELLA.

November 23, 2009

For the sake of all that is glorious. My most beloved designer of all time is closing up shop? I know I’m a solid two weeks behind (thanks, school, you rock!). Can’t the government bail her out? Or a Vanderbilt? Or Bill Gates?! Anyone? Bueller?

In homage to the most delightful British lass ever to construct an article of clothing, one of my favorite editorials to date (not hard with Leith Clark’s styling genius, Ellen von Unwerth’s photographic brilliance, and Simona McIntyre’s supremely ethereal beauty):

I am completely thrilled about Target’s latest designer collaboration with Anna Sui, as you may have read…well here is another reason to be that much more stoked for what I knew was going to turn out amazingly stunning, in true Anna fashion (pun intended!):

Perfectly creative and singular, as per usual.

June 26, 2009

Certainly not fresh news by any means, but I joyfully stumbled upon this photo (via teenvogue.com) of notoriously-hip model Jessica Stam donning a stunning frock by CFDA award-winners Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte, so I deemed a post necessary!

Choo Shoes for H&M!

June 26, 2009

Designer collusions seem to be popping up nonstop as of late! Swedish retailer H&M, coming off various designer ententes with the likes of the lionized Rei Kawabuko and more-recently, British phenom Matthew Williamson, has certainly given footwear connoisseurs a reason to celebrate. The ubiquitous retailer just signed shoe sensation Jimmy Choo onto the troupe, and the sure-to-be highly-covetable vendibles will hit 200 lucky stores worldwide November 14, with low-fare prices of roughly $50-$140. Hopefully a few sneak peak photos of the designs will surface on the net, stat!Jimmy Choo

If the Jimmy Choo-H&M hybrid turns out even nearly as snazzy as these beauties, count me in!

Excellent = (Missoni)(Converse)²

June 26, 2009

Subsequent to the sought-after sneaks created by Converse and Play (sportswear line of Comme des Garçons), featuring the unmistakable two-eyed heart logo, the Chuck Taylor, hi-top-producing powerhouse will join forces with Missoni for its next designer collaboration. Tai Missoni, the patriarch of the epic Italian sartorial empire, has already been seen donning the new steps, according to WWD. The Chucky T.’s will brandish the quintessential Missoni zigzag for S/S 2010.
